The way it was written made it harder to like, it had all these great elements but they just didn't really come together and basketball is boring and takes up way too much of the novel.

This was good, not great.  I loved the concept, and the writing was good.  Honestly, I kept getting distracted and having to rewind, so I think a rerea at a later date might be necessary.

I wanted to really enjoy this. It wasnt terrible, its definitely a page turner. But some of the plot got lost with all the basketball. There were also a lot of plot points thrown out there that dont get elaborated on or go anywhere or get explained. The explanation for some things felt like "its elevated, idk". And i dont think im a fan malerman's writing style. Its choppy and edgey. I prefer sentences longer than a few words. He says in 3 short sentences what he couldve strung together in one and have it flow better and not feel so elementary. So i didn't really hate it but i also didnt exactly like it. I think the plot was a good idea but executed less than stellar

I'd say I'd give it a 3,5/5 or a 3/5. I'm not that into paranormal stuff, but boy did this book drag you right into their world. Daphne is a seven foot tall woman, and there's this debat whether she's evil or good, whether she's coming for you or not...

I did like this book and the tension, it was definitely creepy. Even I was starting to get scared of thinking too much of her! But... these were the things I didn't like that much:
- the rushed ending
- what happened to the previous girls that got murdered? How did Daphne disappear then?
- so what's up with coach Wanda?? she did it because she actually liked being kidnapped or got like some form of Stockholm syndrome?
- what happened with the fan club? why were they involved??
