Woolf allows her stream of consciousness completely loose in A Room of One’s Own. Fact and fiction mixed with her own long tangents lead it to be somewhat hard to follow but she truly does jam pack it with provocative ideas, especially for the time it was written. While one could argue some of her points are hypocritical or to go even further, flawed, this book makes you think which is the most important aspect.

My criteria for a 5-star review is simple: it’s when a book captivates me to the point where I can’t imagine changing a single thing. There are no annoying quirks or dull moments—just pure, unfiltered brilliance. This particular book is not only beautiful but astonishingly relevant to the world we live in today. Woolf’s emotionally charged thoughts emerge with intensity, showcasing her heart, her anger, her sense of community, and her sharp wit, all grounded in a wealth of knowledge. This is writing that deserves to be taught in schools, dissected in classrooms, and shared as a cherished gift. I'm only disappointed that it has taken me this long to gift the read to myself.
