This book reminded me a lot of my qualitative research course in college for which I am very grateful. Lots of instructive reflections on anthropology, ethnography, and linguistics both within and outside of the observer/observed dichotomy and within an Indigenous context. Easy to read as the prose is simple, direct, and straightforward, with some light humor sprinkled in. Academic terminology is used but not overwhelmingly so, and the text puts them in context, so even if you don't know each term, it's not that confusing to understand. It almost felt like the author was conversing with me in-person!
