Intriguing story line but disappointing ending. Nearly gave it 3 stars as the lack of speech punctuation was REALLY annoying (although I'm sure it was intentional?!) but it didn't stop me reading.

Mostra muito no que se pode tornar o ser humano em condições difíceis, algo que, se calhar, não está longe da realidade.
Um livro que nos prende do começo ao fim.
O único problema é mesmo o tipo de escrita, que é muito característica do Saramago, que por vezes dificulta a leitura.
