This book was okay. It is very short but alright. It was kind of boring at the start but as it went on, it slowly got more interesting. I would say that it is not exactly necessary to read this book but you could if you liked the series a lot and want to find out about the group a bit more in depth. The last 20 pages were a waste though for me as they had nothing to do with the Maze Runner but still. Here is the free link to the book if you were interested!

So many of my eighth graders are reading this book, I had to see what had captured
their attention. It was a good book and I can see why they like it. Many of them are
going on to read the next one in the series. I think I will join them. I am curious what
is going to happen to this band of survivors of the Maze.
