Calling this a book would be generous. Part of it was included and the prequel to the series. Really was not interesting, not really worth the money.

This is very short, and nothing too special is learned in it, except for one thing you can kind of predict (I have at this point not yet finished book 3.)
The solar flares burned the land enough that they needed to check how much food they could produce on the space that was left. It turned out that not all people who survived, even though MANY died, could continue to be fed, so a virus was found and used that would target the brain to make it stop functioning. It was supposed to work fast and painless. It was developed so it would be less contagious as time went on, and it was assumed people were not travelling much to minimise spreading it. Yeah. WICKED isn't good.

Este libro se divide en tres partes: Archivos confidenciales, Correspondencia recuperada y Memorias Suprimidas.
En archivos confidenciales podemos encontrar algunos memorándums de CRUEL con los siguientes asuntos: Bienvenida, Candidato de élite, Implantes, Progreso Telepatía, Propagación de la Llamarada, Mi despedida para todos ustedes, La Purga y Sobre Chuck. Además encontramos algunas transcripciones de: mientras Thomas entró al área y observaciones de Thomas en el área durante 25 días.
En correspondencia recuperada encontramos los siguientes títulos: A todos los sobrevivientes de las llamaradas solares, Coalición Post Catástrofe Memorándum, Potencial, Posibilidad, Borrador de Decreto, Increíble, Unas palabras finales, Otra solución y Potenciales aparatos para las variables.
En memorias suprimidas podemos encontrar recuerdos de algunos de los personajes, como: El primer recuerdo de Thomas de la Llamarada; Sartén, operativo de extracción de neutralizador; Minho, Prueba Fase 3.
Creo que faltó más contenido, muchos de los documentos que aparecen en este libro ya los habíamos leído en Virus Letal o en Código CRUEL. Además, faltó conocer la primera conversación entre Teresa y Thomas, ya que en Código CRUEL mencionan que modificaron los recuerdos de Thomas porque no había salido bien el primer encuentro, también faltó conocer la tercera prueba de Newt y otros personajes. Me hubiera gustado tener más información, pero siempre se agradece cuando los autores te dan un poco más de los universos y personajes que tanto queremos.

I feel like half the content of this book was already in the Kill Order and the Fever Code
La verdad me parece que no hacen más que robar con esto, ciertamente no hay mucha diferencia con lo que pudimos leer en la precuela. Quiza hay ciertos fragmentos que son interesantes como los recuerdos de Sartén o ciertas experiencias de Minho, pero tampoco es algo que nos aporte mucho más de lo que ya habíamos leído.

Announcements and bulletins from the early release of and panic over the Flare showcase what a terrible idea this population control attempt was. They tried to play God, and it blew up in their faces. I really have no sympathy for such an organization and zero trust that they'd make the right moral decisions. Emails within the group detail the start of the Trials, the Maze, and even some of what Thomas did.
The glimpses into the boys' lives were also great. Thomas' first memory of the Flare's taking his father and the effect that had on his mother. Frypan's hope and elation at regaining his memories. Minho's bravado, loyalty, and tenacity in the face of being asked to betray his friends. These all add a layer of interest to these characters. I hope Dashner writes more like this!
