The first 75% of the book was very easy with very little conflict. I was surprised to see Sierra’s wedding in this book and not in her own book. Lex turning on Raya with the Sierra disappearance seemed to come out of left field and be completely out of character. I feel like the main couples’ relationship was not the main story line of this book.

I have a bone to pick with Catharina Maura and that is the fact that the Windsors men aren’t real people. How and why would you make up fictional characters that I can’t actively fawn over

Catharina Maura is one of those authors that makes me wonder whether they like women or not...
But first, I read this book in two days, and on day 2 I couldn't believe that I was still reading the same book. Towards the middle, the story started to feel like a completely different book... same for the characters, it's like they had a personality transplant halfway through the book.
Anyways, back to Catharina hating women... I have noticed a pattern in this series, very often the FMC has no female friends (single women specifically) and whenever a woman appears the author always write them as some form of competition, either they want the FMC's man or they're being catty towards the FMC or the FMC is comparing herself & being jealous of them. I also dislike the fact that to show that the men are not interested in these other girls, they always have to demean them, compare them to the FMC or "mock" their behavior... The FMCs only have a "healthy" ** relationship with the other women in the family, but that is only because these women are already taken, and they're "not a threat"... pathetic.
Catharina girly, you know it's possible for a woman in a relationship to have a healthy relationship (or encounter) with a single woman (or any woman outside their family)... I think it's time to address this with your therapist, 'cause it's getting ridiculous.
**emphasis on the quotes, cause your sister-in-law saying you should consider going back to a man who just held you at gun point is probably not the healthiest... and neither is one guilt-tripping you into marrying a man you hate just because your awful grandma is dying (but that's another story for another review)... these sisters-in-law relationship/forced friendships aren't the best either but oh well.
