Qué alegría de historia, encontrarla me ha ayudado a salir del abismo de la casi no lectura. Las ilustraciones son preciosas. Y hay Momentos graciosos.

Band 2 von Fence schließt nahtlos an Band 1 an - und auch hier ist mein Empfinden ähnlich: sehr lebendig, macht Lust auf mehr - aber sobald man in der Story drin ist, ist sie auch schon wieder vorbei. Die Graphic Novel ist einfach total kurz! Am Ende des 2. Bandes ist das Turnier rund um die begehrten Plätze im Fechtteam der Schule immer noch kaum vorangeschritten. Wir bekommen ein paar mehr Einblicke in die Persönlichkeiten der Kontrahenten, und ich schätze die casual queerness - aber grade bei dem vergleichweise hohen Preis für die Printausgabe kann ich da nur zum ebook raten ...

Finally continued with this. Nicholas and Seiji are still on rival terms, and it looks like that they are going to the same school and share a room. Will they also be on the same fencing team? And how will that affect them. Besides that, this volume introduced bunch of new characters that I don't remember the names of, but it might change with future volumes.

In this issue we get introduced to a lot more characters that Nicholas goes to school with aka his fencing competition. After reading it all I have to say is this series makes me so happy! This issue was hilarious, especially that part of, "Aiden dumped me." I was dying 😂 Oh, and that rubber duck lol.
I don't know how to rate single issues properly, because they are quite short. I do feel like I'm missing something when I read them, but regardless I think I'm already so invested into this series that my excitement and love for each new little bit keeps making me rate 5 stars. Honestly, a part of me is kind of rating them as a whole (as if it were already a trade paperback).
Would highly recommend this series, however, if you'd rather read them all at once (issues #1-5) you'll have to wait till, I think July of 2018?? for the trade paperback to be released.

En realidad sería 3.5, pero como no se pueden poner medias estrellas... Empezamos a ver por dónde van a ir los tiros en esta historia, también me gusta el humor que destila, pero me sigue sabiendo a poco!

okay, i'm officially in love.
the first one had me a little taken aback, mostly because of how short these are. i had a hard time connecting to the characters and getting excited for the story. but i'm happy to report that this installment has got me HYPED.
we get an introduction into a little bit of fencing history (as is relevant to the story), a hint at roommate angst (the illustrations on these pages are so lovely, the dichotomy of the two main characters is awesome), and KICK ASS intros to the team. i'm really excited to see the team dynamic in the future... that's really what i live for in sports heavy books/comics (i.e. check, please! and the the foxhole court).
anyway: read this, die happy, etc etc.
