Claire Daverley tells this most unexpected story so beautifully, with twists of life that you couldn't anticipate, details that pull at your heart, and lines that will break and mend your heart over and over again. Reading this book in my 20s, I am inspired to pursue the life that feels best to me, even if it isn't the common choice, or what someone else may choose for me. I'm inspired to love deeply, to live boldly, and to make the kinds of choices I won't regret, going after the things that bring me joy and make me feel alive.
i'm usually a sucker for this kind of story which is why i'm all the more disappointed that this couldn't quite capture me, but maybe it was BECAUSE there are others that worked better for me. i think having heard this being compared to love, rosie (one of my favourite films ever) and normal people made me go in with my expectations set too high.
liked the ocd portrayal as it was vey subtle, didn't click with the portrayal of depression. i also found the side characters much more interesting than rosie and will, whose love story also didn't resonate with me. what conncected them initially before grief did? (jen was right in her assessment of will mostly liking the idea of rosie (i love jen i wish we had gotten to see her living her best life))
also, making the most tragic death and the one the story rides on the one of your SOLE queer character? boo!! there would've been other ways or you could've at least then included another queer side character
also too many "he/she says" there are other dialogue tags or ways to omit them

full of heartbreak, bad decisions, yearning, and miscommunication that it gets frustrating at times especially rosie but i do get her although i might be a will defender forever 🙂↕️ it is kind of a mix of normal people and love, rosie and i did enjoy the lack of quotation marks lol
it took me some time to finish this one because i got busy with uni
Loved this but would have loved it more if the author knew what quotation marks are and decided to use them
