I probably would’ve rated this higher had I not read it because I heard it was similar to Sally Rooney. If I’d gone in reading it for what it is, I think I wouldn’t have found the characters so one dimensional and the story too predictable. Overall, a happy ending works for me

I did not anticipate enjoying this book. However, it is so very well written and if half stars were allowed it would get 3.5 (or 4 if I was rating just within it's own genre). This book would lend itself well to adaption for the big screen! It would join those romantic, weepy but feel good movies.

ugh i love british lit
