Hammy, you would’ve loved Holden Caulfield. I’ll let you decide if that’s a compliment or not.

#JusticeForOphelia. Stripped so badly of her autonomy that she saw death as the only way out.

This was one of the best complicated books I've read. I remember reading Romeo and Juliet in middle school and loving it, this was a bit of a challenge, but I enjoyed the plot development.

Didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did but maybe because it’s my second Shakespeare book it was more enjoyable. Also hamlet was a mood sometimes.

SO GOOD!!!
I first read Hamlet in high school 4 years ago and didn't really like it, now I read it again for university and.. wow. I can't believe I missed all those absolutely brilliant parts in my first read (16-yo me was quite dreading it). I've never been this entertained while reading a play, now I really get the gist of Shakespeare's fame.

Notes:
- Starting to realise I prefer Shakespeare's romances and romantic tragedies more than this genre.
- Liked the inevitability of tragedy theme, and the inherent solitary and madness-inducing nature of revenge.
- Very clever, very intricate as always, just didn't really care for this play's story or its more frequently analysed themes very much (eg. inaction, autonomy of women).
