This started out great and made my heart flutter many times. I loved the pastries and French references in the beginning. Everything just made me want to consume more sweets (even though I am not a chocolate person at all). I was a bit disappointed when two protagonists got together, not because of those more revealing scenes but because I think the story lost its flair. Also, what the hell was going on in the end? Deliberately making the love interest drunk so that they can go to the “next level” is way wrong. I would have loved this 100% for sure otherwise.

This was a short and sweet read that was such a delight after some rather serious books I've been reading lately. I love Kaoru - he's so hilarious - and Sojiro is a quiet but secretly sweet and passionate guy that you can't help but adore. It's such a sweet manga - no unnecessary drama, and there's an added benefit of really delicious looking goodies given that both characters run/own sweet shops. Kaoru runs a Western-style sweet shop names Bisous, while Sojiro runs the family-business: a Japanese-style sweet shop with decades worth of devoted clientele. They have very different menus but both come to realize they could learn something from the other; and of course there's the swoony love story. It happens fast - Kaoru basically falls for Sojiro the moment he sees him - but it's still a sweet story of watching the two of them get together. All in all, it's a really enjoyable read!

I've noticed that lgbt+ mangas are usually very hit or miss... this was definitely a miss. I had high hopes for this so this was so disappointing.
My main issue with this was the fact that the MC literally put achohol into some deserts to get the love interest drunk. He does this knowing that the love interest will end up wanting to have sex with him... and they do. After that I just couldn't continue because... what?
Before that, the story was fine, nothing special. There was almost no development and it was very insta love. I'm not a huge fan of that trope in general but this manga just didn't do a good job with it at all.
Overall, I definitely don't recommend. Please don't spend your time or money.
Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
