Read this in a very short amount of time and while each story was rushed, I liked all the brief perspectives (yay Fritz!). It was a little obvious at some points that this collection was released after EARTH'S END (which I'm biting my nails on now), but I still enjoyed it. A must for all AIR AWAKENS fans!

I literally just finished "Fire Falling" and jumped into the collection of stories. It was interesting to get several different point of view other than Vhalla's; I especially loved getting two stories from Aldrick's perspective. It was super interesting to see what's going on in his head since he's so stoic, from the outside at least and to those who are not Vhalla.

Also interesting was Elecia, Tim (who I kind of already love) and Baldairs thoughts. I just wanted to punch the Emperor in the face reading his thoughts. He sucks and everyone knows it, especially his sons. I don't know further then what has happened so far, but if in later books Vhalla takes him out in a windstorm I might be more than ok with that outcome.

But I was confused about the new characters, probably as I've not been introduced to them yet. I kept getting them confused, but I'm sure that will clear up in book 3!

This was a fun anthology. Can't wait to start the sequel!

I’m in the middle of binging the entire series, so I read this after book two to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Sadly, it was basically pointless to me and kind of confusing.

If I'm being honest, I think my copy did not have all of the stories because it seemed way too short to have been 12 stories. It was enjoyable though, and I like how it reads as though it is essential to the Earth's End and Fire Falling plots.

3/5 stars.

This short novella is meant to be read between book 2 and 3 in the Air Awakens series, but after reading other reviews I read first few chapters of book 3 before reading the novella. I think without reading some of book 3 I would have been confused about the timeline, with the novella containing some spoilers for the next book as the timeline of the novella overlaps both books rather than being between the two books.

Otherwise I enjoyed this novella and found it interesting to read the POVs of other characters.
