My favourite of this series so far. Not a super 5 stars, but I gave the previous ones 4 stars, so this lifts the rating above the 4 level overall.
sweet baby jesus I don't think I breathed normally through this entire book.
Last review mentioned the author's trend of steadily mounting tension and a punch in the face at the end. This book is ALL PUNCH IN THE FACE. (with a few moments of respite for good things.)
Palm sweating, nail biting, jaw clenching. Just...if you made it through the first three intact, maybe take the weekend for this, because you're not going to want to put this one down.

ANOTHER PERFECT 5/5 STARS. This series has become my entire life. Honest to God, I can't handle how much I love it.
Origin takes off right where Opal ended – and let me remind you of what an ending it was.
Katy has just been captured by the (stupid) Daedalus and Daemon is having none of it. He will go to hell and back to save her – and he does. Turning himself in seems to be the only logical thing to do, so he goes back to the place he was just escaping. He feels nothing but agony while being separated by her. This helps fuel him and gives him the strength he needs to get her back...
My FULL REVIEW can be found here! Tell me what you think! xo
Still enjoy the story, though I don't like the parts from the POV of Daemon -- his voice just doesn't sound "right" to me.
Loved ORIGIN. I think is the best book in the Lux series. I can't wait to read the final book.

This iteration in the series felt considerably more dark and dreary. Reading about Katy and Daemon's hostage situation was so infuriating and sad and the whole trajectory of the book... the series went from being lighthearted alien drama to something much bigger than I had anticipated. Aspects of the series are so similar to Twilight but the depiction of the DOD is much more villainous and frightening than the Volturi even were that I remember. Love the addition of Archer and Luc as characters. I never trusted Matthew in the first book either. Can't believe they just got rid of the other triplets and Matthew conpletely, but I'd be shocked to see the author kill the Blacks at this point. Good at keeping the stakes high despite that.
Still wish they had 1/2 stars. I really enjoy this series, even if the aliens do look like glowing octopi when in true form.
