Really 3.5. I have issues with this book. The first half was fine but the second half royally pissed me off. I missed the funness of the first books that made me fall in love with the series in the first place. *Spoilers ahead* It really annoyed me when Damon went to get captured straight away so he could be with Katy; Luxen are much smarter than humans so why didn't he use his brain in this situation? Another thing, when Damon and Katy did reunite and eventually escaped all that was on their mind was sex. If I had a group of powerful and destructive people on my tail I would not spend 5 hours in the bedroom with my boyfriend! Getting married in Vegas as well, really? I know they were saying that they belonged together and couldn't imagine being with anyone else and what not but everyone says that with their first love. Katy and Damon had only known each other for roughly a year and considering their youth it was very unrealistic. The scene on the highway I felt was a bit of a drag. I know it was supposed to be dramatic and I was supposed to feel pain when the characters died but all I could think of was what was on TV tonight or what I was having for tea. I hope in the next book I will feel similar things that I felt in Obsidian, things that will remind me on why I love this series. I know I've sounded like such a moody so-and-so but I just want to get my opinion across which I don't think is such a crime :)
There are no words to describe this book, I loved it so much. It broke my heart at some parts and made me swoon at others. Daemon Black is officially the best book boyfriend out there, his love for Katy actually takes my breath away sometimes. Cheesy I know. This series really takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, brilliant writing from the queen Armentrout
This book just blew my mind. Complete and total mind-annihilation. There was so many layers and settings to this book--I flip-flopped between wanting to hurry through the book and know what happens and not wanting to finish because that would mean having to wait 9 months for Opposition!
Now, I don't wanna ruin anything here, so I'm going to write my review a little differently. And seeing as this is my 100th review (woohoo!!), it seems fitting. Origin was yummy, lovely, exciting, terrible, and just plain perfect.
There was a lot of

And plenty of

Daemon really shined in this book. When he **, I nearly cried.

I really sympathized with Katy as well. She saw and went through some unbelievable stuff, and I understood her elation when she could finally do this again.

But the ending! Oh, those last few chapters were packed with so much, I'm definitely going to have to reread it a few times just to absorb it all. I can't wrap my brain around all that happened. Johnny will help show how I still feel:

Now, read on for my predictions for Opposition ONLY IF you've read Origin because there are some serious spoilers ahead! Ye have been warned.
Let's see how much I can get right ;) Thanks as always for reading my reviews!

So, based on the blurb for Opposition, I think Kat and Daemon are going to team up with Arum who would just love a chance to go after some Luxen and don't want them here on Earth just as much as Daemon, Katy, the DOD, and other humans. Hunter will make an appearance (yum!) and fight along the good guys. DOD will lose all credibility and forgive our heroes' past transgressions if they help stop the invasion (this one is more wishful thinking, I know). Origins will also help in the fight against evil. Dee and Archer will be happy together. Luc will continue to be mysterious, and I will continue to miss Paris :(Let's see how much I can get right ;) Thanks as always for reading my reviews!
So much for what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! Another amazing book in this fabulous series, in fact I've already started the next book! And this book we also got demons POB I am boil boy it definitely made him even more HOTT!!! Katie was even more kick ass! Also we got another fabulous character in Archer. Now the mom in me has some words of wisdom to bestow upon these youngsters

you do not get married when you're only 18, even if you think you are madly in love! Also Dawson and Beth use protection! Although I think it's a bit late for that one!

I hate to give this one 2 stars, but I can't give it more. This book lacked the type of interaction between Deamon and Katy that I loved in previous books. It became a typical romance novel and I so hate them typical. I'm not stopping this series here of course. I love this series, just not this one book.
Probably a 3.5? I wasn't completely gripped by it, but it was an enjoyable book nevertheless. Especially with that ending, I'm pretty darn excited about seeing where the final (? I think the next one is the last one anyway) book takes these characters.
There's no way I can continue without spoilers lol, here it goes.
Beyond that, I do like that Armentrout wasn't afraid to kill off characters we've known over the last few books. If I'd read this a few years ago this would probably be a 2 star review ranting about characters being killed off as I did with Veronica Roth (those of you who know what I'm talking about, you Know...) but here I think it showed the sacrifice that a lot of these characters were willing to make. One of the issues I find, with retrospect, regarding Twilight, was Meyer's inability to do this and need that fairytale ending instead. I do wish Armentrout had gone a step further and possibly kill off Dee or someone of similar importance? I do like her but I am struggling to see her purpose in these novels and I think it would have made more of an impact on all these characters going forward, especially with the entrance of thousands of Luxen and Daemon needing to choose a side.
The love story is getting to the point of being totally icky and I'm both here for it and annoyed by it. Archer's response to the insane amount of PDA is such a mood honestly. It might be fun and sort of cute to read about but seeing that in real life I'd be so uncomfortable around them! I'm guessing an actual wedding will probably happen some point soon?
I also question whether Blake is actually dead. Felt a bit anti-climactic for such a big character. Definitely a brave choice if Armentrout keeps him dead, but he'll probably come back. I have a feeling the Daedalus people just got some other Luxen to assume Blake's image and that's who Kat killed, and Blake will come back and be all 'truuuust in meee' like the snake in 'The Jungle Book' and she'll get totally duped again because of all the guilt. I hope that doesn't happen but I can see that being the case.
Anyway, incoherent review over, it's a 3.5 but I do have hopes for the next book being better than its predecessors.

Ok I have to get this out of the way because this is something that's been annoying me since I read it! So there's that fight scene in Las Vegas near the end and there's that kid who's filmed all of it, which will totally come back to haunt these characters beyond revealing that Kat is alive, especially to her mother oh boy. How did his phone not get completely fried when Kat did that light thing to destroy the Arum? We've seen in the previous books that when Daemon even gets a little excited he can accidentally take out the electricity and destroy tech, and yet when Kat does this full on blast at the powerful Arum, it somehow doesn't also destroy a little phone? gaaaaah.Beyond that, I do like that Armentrout wasn't afraid to kill off characters we've known over the last few books.
