Loved this book! It was a fun read that I was absolutely enthralled in!

It was an interesting plot that highlighted Data and explored aspects often left to be desired by the show. His family, grief and what it’s like the be alone. A great story for any data enthusiasts! Feels like fan fiction (positive)

I also loved Rhea!! She was actually a very cool character, I was actually nervous when she was introduced as a love interest however I enjoyed her role in the story as she contributed to the plot.

This book is a philosophical sequel to the topics explored in the episode Measure of a Man. Data continues to explore what separates (or doesn’t separate) artificial creations from biological life, which the author handles deftly and with characters that feel exactly like those in TNG.

Data and Spock have been my two favorite Star Trek characters since I was a little girl. This novel did a wonderful job of giving Data growth and learning how to deal with & accolade emotions. I loved Data being able to finally process some of his life’s events and lean from androids that he came into contact with. Wonderful book that gives great insight into Data & what makes him tick.

Data stars in his own adventure/mystery!

I thought the plot was pretty good; fast paced and interesting. The setup was better than the resolution though. Data is emotion-chipped, and coping with / exploring this new perspective on life. I'm not sure I buy Data's internal voice and the interpretation of his (emotional) personality, but I liked the new characters.

I felt like I wasn't nerd enough for this book. There are many, many references to people / events in various Star Trek episodes that I had to look up or should have looked up. If it had to do with Data or really, androids (other than the borg), there's a good chance it was mentioned.
