I was expecting to read about only all the great things that happened in Berkley's history. While there were many accolades, they didn't shy away from some of the uncomfortable moments; in which some of those moments ending up in the national press. After living in Berkley for only 14 years and not knowing much of the history, this book I thought was very valuable.

As a new-ish transplant to Berkley, I found the history fascinating. I have a special fondness for old photos and maps, and this book does not disappoint. Certainly a must for all Berkley residents.
