Wow, the grip that the series has on me is striking! I’m not usually a romance or romantasy reader but I just love these books. To the point that I just ordered the third book for pick up at Barnes & Noble. And then I find there’s a fourth one that I’ll probably have to wait another year for!

I love Evie Sage so much, she is a fantastic, original character. I see a lot of myself in her, being a people pleaser and needing to be needed. And saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. I love the banter between her and The Villain, and even though it’s a much aligned trope of mine, them not being completely honest with each other works for the story.

It is very silly, don’t get me wrong. Don’t come into this book thinking you’re getting a serious fantasy story with a little bit of romance. As the official description says, it’s a combination between once upon a time and the office. So go in with that mindset, ready to laugh , but also prepared to be moved and love the characters.
