The story was ok, I know from reading the super long introduction how it was a thought experiment around writing race but for me personally the question of which character was black and which was white was unimportant (Not in a we can erase race way but more in a knowing one was black and one was white was enough to contextualize their interactions without needing to worry about which character was which within those interactions) and so I struggled to care about the story or the characters because I didn't feel like I knew either of them beyond a surface level and the short story had very little plot to grab my attention.

Very powerful, succint, and definitely provokes a lot of thought on our perceptions of race. Definite must-read.

Fascinating premise that I am glad I was able to explore. I wish more stories took a route similar to that of this.
