Things I liked:
  • The twins were the stars of the show. They were so cute, and I loved their little personalities.
  • Loreli was a wonderful character. She was shocking and wipsmart with confidence to spare. I loved that she had faults as well to make her seem human and relatable.
Things I didn’t like:
  • As much as I enjoyed the story telling, things really went too quickly from agonizing slow burn to actually being together. It was difficult to buy in for me.
  • Abrupt ending. After such a long separation things were wrapped up in .5 seconds. Very dissatisfying.

This was a fun one, turning tropes on their heads. I really wish the last quarter of the book had been as well explored as the first half. I was definitely surprised by the twist, which was pleasant since most romances are pretty predictable (not in a bad way; for me, it's part of their allure). The climactic conflict was a tad over dramatic, but Loreli has a big personality, so it's forgiveable.
