I have mixed feelings about this one! It was a little mystery, a little drama, some excitement but a whole lot of childishness. I get the author was trying to convey that bullying has an ever lasting impact but it was far fetched to think that these adult woman would even go on this trip, despite their selfishness.
In addition, it was very hard at times to keep everyone straight as the author talked in pre and post tense all the time. It kept me intrigued, which any writer aims for, but only because I kept hoping it would get better. Not a fan of how it ended either.

She Started It is a delicious page turner that had my from the prologue. This book is DRAMA! The women are the WORST. Truly terrible people, which makes watching their secrets be exposed so enjoyable. In addition to the drama, there are many dark themes in the book mostly centered around bullying. It’s easy to get emotional as you see what these women did to Poppy growing up and I had a hard time reading Poppy’s diary entries. I loved the isolated tropical setting and while I did guess some of the twists, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment. 4 stars!
