This was the perfect summer thriller. It is fast-paced, atmospheric, and deliciously twisty. Set on a remote island in the Bahamas, it delivers a chilling, isolated closed circle mystery that kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

The midpoint twist is hands down, one of the best I’ve ever read in a thriller. I did manage to predict the big reveal at the end, but it didn’t take away from the fun because it was so well-executed and satisfying to watch unfold.

The friend group dynamic was another highlight. I loved peeling back the layers on each character, learning their secrets, motivations, and betrayals. The story also did a great job of showing how dangerous bullying can be, especially when it echoes into adulthood.

And of course, the setting, a bachelorette weekend on a private island, was absolutely perfect. I’m a sucker for any thriller with a wedding related backdrop, and this one delivered all the drama and tension I was hoping for.

If you love sharp twists, messy friendships, and high stakes secrets, She Started It should be at the top of your summer reading list.

Mean girls grow up to be ruthless women. Annabel, Chloe, Tonya and Esther are friends you don’t want to have.

None of them can turn down a free vacation to a private island, even though they despise the host.

When bad things start to happen , they turn on each other.

This is a sad story of justice and revenge with a twist I didn’t see coming.

It was a little hard to keep the friends straight but ultimately it didn’t really matter much who was who.

A great summer revenge! The twist at the end was easy to guess and I didn’t like any of the characters but you weren’t supposed to! Overall a fast and easy read!

I like similar authors and styles but this one was a way too evil for me. Apart from the twist, it had no redeeming qualities. 4 girls bully another girl in high school and then get invited to her bachelorette party on a private island for a revenge scheme.

Predicable but entertaining. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a beachy thriller.
