I'm honestly not sure what I just read. It was a book I was very interested in as I wanted to know what happened to the subjects, but in general it wasn't what I expected. As a whole, there is a lot of sexual abuse that occurs here. Maggie is groomed by her teacher, Sloan has sex with a whole lot of people to appease her husband, and Lina is raped by 3 dudes in high school. So this is not for someone who struggles with the heavy subject matter. It also touches on suicide and suicide ideation, so be forewarned.
I thought the writing was top notch and did enjoy that aspect of it. No real resolution at the end and since it's non-fiction, maybe there is not suppose to be a resolution.

I didn’t understand the point of this? It was certainly interesting but it just ends… and I’m not sure what I was supposed to get from it.

It's probably because I went into this expecting more so understandably, it was a bit of a let down. Of course, I can't expect a good amount of tension from a book that talks about sex and women and everything that entails, but I felt like it could have done better. Regardless, I enjoyed reading about the lives of the women featured in this book, and although I do not understand most things they did, I can see myself coming to understand their reasonings.
