Rogerson’s writing is excellent and she immediately drew me in. Elisabeth, Nathaniel, and Silas were all wonderfully written. At times I felt like the plot was moving at breakneck speed and really wanted it to slow down and spend more time on events and explaining them. I would have preferred this story be in two parts. Overall, Sorcery of Thorns gave Hogwarts vibes which felt really comforting.

I have a few minor gripes with the writing but I simply love the story, the world, and the characters too much to give this anything other than 5 stars.

I was excited to read it every night. I didn't want it to end and I'm low-key sad that I finished it. There's a companion novella and yes, I am going out to the nearest bookstore tonight to purchase it.

Shoutout to booktubers for putting this book on my radar. And for comparing it to Howl's Moving Castle - that was the selling point for me. If you enjoyed HMC (book or movie), pick this up because I agree with the comparison.

Now somebody please adapt this into a miniseries for television because I wants ittt 😭

I loved this book with all my heart. I love the development and how the author takes time to build up to the ending and how she builds up the relationship between Nathaniel, Elizabeth and Silas. I must say Silas was Definitely my favorite character. He was incredibly funny without trying and I love the comments on how Nathaniel dresses. I loved him so much. This book bought me so much joy and I’m definitely buying the new one

This is overwhelmingly okay. Is there anything inherently wrong with it? No, not really. I just didn’t care for it. I was bored almost the whole time, the characters and plot did nothing for me. The world building was non existent in the way of backstory, by the end i still didn’t really know why anything happened the way that it happened. If it wasn’t for book club I probably would’ve DNFed. Now, give a whole book about Silas? THAT I would read and probably love.

Beautifully written, I was a little disappointed in the ending, but it wasn’t bad so 4 stars it is.
