Teen Killers Club

While I was not a huge fan of the voice actor who narrated the book, the story was good enough to get past that. This story follows Signal Deere, a teenager accused of essentially beheading her best friend in a shed in the woods. Though she doesn't remember much of that night, she is convinced she was framed, but it's too late. She's on a list of kids rounded up and taken to a camp to train to be a teen, covert operative tasked with killing targets-- or rot in jail for a crime she doesn't think she committed. However, the other campers are all essentially teen serial killers, so they can't know she's not one of them.

I can definitely see how this is progressing as a series. Would make a great CW show, especially if you're into the will they/won't they/who to choose dynamic like Team Stefan vs. Team Damon.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this title.

Awesome debut. So many of my students love to read thrillers, but YA thrillers can be hard to find. This was a great read that I will definitely recommend to students.

What a wild ride that was, and I absolutely loved every. Single. Second.

I love how twisted but endearing all the characters are. Each and everyone of them were enjoyable and actually meant something to me, to the point that I end up feeling very similarly to our protagonist, Signal, where I don't want anything bad to happen to them and I hope they can make it out alive. That's rare in a cast of characters we're actually supposed to like 100%, much less a cast of relentless teen murderers.

The mystery and ominous air of the camp really helped this book keep me riveted. I desperately wanted to know who really killed Signal's friend and framed her? What's really going on with this camp? Will Signal be able to get a happy ending? I was on edge about everything, that I actually read this entire book in one sitting, a rare feat for me. I literally stayed up all night just to see what was going to happen.

However, my favorite thing just might be the romance, which was kind of unexpected, but wonderful. Honestly Erik somehow made my heart swoon, and this guy killed 10 people... I don't know what that says about me lmao. He was very funny, charming, and had great chemistry with Signal, what else do you want me to say!

Overall a very unique and memorable book, definitely not for everyone, but I'm glad there are others who love it just like me.

Wildly inventive and darkly subversive, this sly adventure adroitly balances action, romance, and deep questions about the ways society—and each of us—judges those around us.

Dear god. Please tell me this book is getting a sequel. As I kept reading I saw there were so few pages left but so much more story to cover. That ending was not satisfying enough!!!!
