I really enjoyed reading Souls and Sorrows as Ariana and Cash had 2 separate personalities that completely clashed, but somehow worked. I loved seeing how detailed the plot was and that although the other characters from the previous books were also mentioned, you didn't have to read them to know who they are as it was explained. The tension and chemistry between Cash and Ariana was just beautiful. I loved seeing the dark side of Cash and wanted a little more of it after the limo scene.

I will say that I feel like there weren't enough moments or scenes in the book that would have justified the romantic part between Cash and Ariana? I don't know, maybe it's just me. I feel like it was a bit rushed.

I'm not one to usually read slow burn, but holy crap, Ariana and Cash were worth it though.

i ate up every second of this book and i only wish that it was longer so i could have more of ariana and cash. i didn’t know what to expect going into this, but i ended the book so very happy for the two of them (and the spice was so, so good).

I didn’t think it was possible but Cash gave Kaiden (from the KTA series) a run for his money. I loved the dynamic between him and Ariana. Their chemistry was off the charters from the beginning and I love the way their story played out. Ariana was such a complex character. There were times I hated her but most of the time I loved her. As an older sister, I’m used to my younger sisters being afraid to tell me things because they know I want what’s best for them. And Ariana reminded me a lot of my sister. I’m not sure who I like more Ariana or Elena but I love them both, if that makes sense. Also, Cash and Ariana’s bond was just so all consuming for me, I couldn’t get enough of them.

Look, I like dark romances and this book seemed really interesting when I read the blurb and the tropes, but once I started reading it, everything I thought would be great, wasn't.

I thought I was going to fall in love with Cash because he was a sexy lawyer with a dirty mouth who wore glasses, and I love men with glasses, but the things this guy did... I've read some really weird stuff in my life that I thought were hot, but what this man did, was the furthest from being hot. The examples.

one He made her a ring that she couldn't take off if she wanted to, because her finger would bleed badly.

two He dragged her by putting a cloth over her nose and mouth when she was sleeping, and then put a chip under her skin to track her.

"When nothing else comes, I shift, clasping the cloth over her nose and mouth. She jolts awake, panic sending her limbs sprawling, but I press my weight on top of her, smothering her for several seconds.
She fights hard. I catch an elbow to the face, blood flooding my mouth with the impact, and a knee to the groin before she slumps back on the bed, limp and pliable and unconscious"

How is it possible to like Cash after reading this quote? This is just straight up creepy and wrong.

There is going to be the sixth book in this series, which I will probably read because I am curious what else this author will come up with. After the hero from the second book put his c0m into the heroine's lotion, I thought that nothing in this series would surprise me anymore, but here we are.
