Cash and his glasses

If i’m being honest, i was disappointed by this one. i adore all of the other books in this series but this one just didn’t scratch that itch on my brain like the other ones. I just couldn’t see the connection between the cash and ariana, and it felt more forced than not unfortunately. i feel like the plot got lost when it came to the smut

This book got me from the start. I just read the prologue and I was so hooked. I already knew from the first lines that I would be into this story. This book has such a wonderful start and it was so gripping. I couldn't put this book down and I ended up reading the entire book in one sitting because I was so engaged in the story. It's been way harder for me to really get into books lately, so this was basically a miracle, so thank you book for that.

The plot in this book was just so much fun to follow. I was really invested in the world and how much world-building went into it. I just loved seeing what would happen next and I was very interested in seeing what it would be. This story just kept me super engaged in the story and I thought it was a lot of fun to read. The world in this book was just built very nicely and it gave the book such a fun element while I was reading and it just made me even more engaged in the story.

I just loved the romance in this one, everything about it worked for me. How much they wanted each other, how much they were into each other, their obsession and their possessive thoughts, their want to be together no matter what happens, the hurt/comfort and the super sweet moments between them, the steamy scenes and how lovely they were, the characters and how nicely developed they were and how well they fit together, and the dark romance elements were super wonderfully done, but mostly, just how good of a couple these two were and how lovely their romance was.

Overall, I just had the best time reading this book. This was everything I wanted it to be and more. This was just such an enjoyable story and everything about it just really worked for me. Every part of this story was just so lovely and it made for a super enjoyable book that had so many scenes and parts that I absolutely adore and just want to go back and re-read.

I received an arc of this book, and this is my honest opinion

When I was kid, I rented a book from the library on a whim. That book was about Psyche and Eros, and ever since, it has been one of my favorite myths.

So when I saw that this book was a Psyche and Eros retelling i was super excited. I always think of this myth as the predecessor to Beauty and the Beast, and in this case our beast is tall brooding virgin lawyer that dabbles in the dark side of justice, while our belle is a soul shattered former ballerina.

Seriously, Ariana has been broken so badly by her neglectful father and abusive mother that it's no wonder she has murderous self destructing tendencies. When I was reading Promises and Pomegranates, Kal's "relationship" with Carmen sounded more like grooming. Abusive because he was a minor and in her care, but if it was anything like what we see was done to Ariana, then I see why he turned out the way he did.

Cash is a fine character, but comparatively, he's pretty run of the mill messed up. Sure, he does murder, and he puts a mid-evil torture device on Ariana's finger so she can't leave him, but as far as I can tell, his parents sucked, but weren't anywhere near the level of the Ricci's. In fact, Ariana takes SUCH a center stage in this story, Cash seems a bit boring.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. Maybe not as much as I enjoyed the others, and I don't feel like the stakes were as high or the romance as explosive as some of the other books in the series, but I was hooked the moment I opened the book and I blew threw it relatively quickly.

I only have one left in the series, and I interested to see a Pan x Echo story (especially since I don't recall the connection. I always think of Echo in proximity to Narcissus).

AHHHH! OMG! CASH!

All I'm going to say is Cassius MF Primrose!

I absolutely loved this!
