2.5 stars. I was kinda bored. Honestly this series has been so hit or miss with me. The Wolfe Brothers books were fucking amazing I loved them. Vipers and Virtuosos was also good but this book and the first book were not good.
Great mafia/dark romance. Fast, easy read. Solid spice with good plot. The tension!! Unhinged FMC. Definitely a lot of trauma on both sides but see “dark romance.” It was a nice change for the MMC to be inexperienced and the FMC be the one with experience, and a good play on the erm *watching* aspect. It’s been a good while since I read the rest of these but I love that the different stories are coming together more with Elena and Lenny both being related to the MCs and Kal helping the FMC with favors. Speaking of, it’s also a nice change for both of the MCs to be connected to the underground but especially for the FMC to be the one with the more shady past. I usually hate when the MCs don’t just freaking COMMUNICATE but in this case it was done, dare I say, kind of well? It was a little repetitive but what can ya do.

This was good although definitely my least favorite in the series. Personally, I didn’t feel like they actually loved each other by the end.. it felt very rushed and I didn’t feel the connection.
I did like the involvement of Kal! What a cute dad he is.
