Sorry, this might have some spoilers!
I love the bright falls series but some things got lost in translation for me.
1. Why was Iris so against being married and having kids. I understand being entitled to your own decision but it was a very big piece of her story that was only brought about 1 or 2 times throughout the book and really didn't explain why. At a certain point it seemed like she just didn't want it out of spite to prove to her friends and family that she was "different". I feel even the background with her family also didn't provide any basis for it.
2. It seemed like the side characters were just a bunch of different kinds of diversities stuffed into a book without rhyme or reason, basically just there for filler.
3. Stevie's group of friends were so toxic and over stepped boundaries a lot. It just didn't seem to match up with kind of person that Stevie was.
4. I loved Iris character from the other two books and was anticipating reading her story but the Iris just didn't make sense to me. The building blocks of her character basically consisted of middle child syndrome, bad decisions, abandonment issue and promiscuousness. The Iris from that other two books didn't really resonate with this Iris.
Final Thoughts: I loved Stevie as a character she was so sweet and heartwarming to me. I would reread just for her.

Can you believe I didn't know this was coming out right after I started the series?! I got so lucky! IRIS KELLY completes the Bright Falls series, finally weaving the tale of Oregon's favorite disaster bi, Iris. Her new job as a romance author delivered some funny winks at the genre and the story itself. Her struggles to stop sabotaging herself, as well as love interest Stevie's struggles with anxiety, were quite relatable. I found the series ending satisfying enough. Some might call it too fast, but since I devoured the trilogy in about 10 days, I didn't feel that. I'm a little sad to leave Bright Falls, but I'm definitely inspired to seek out lots more queer romances!
Tropes:
-fake dating
-one night stand
-we have to save the theater
-jealous ex
-sex/romance lessons
-extreme wooing
-HEAs galore
-romance writer

In my opinion the best one out of the bright falls books. Some parts were a bit cringey but I got through it
