I couldn't take the constant sexual violence anymore.

Also, the magical common girl tames violent and dangerous prince trope is not my vibe.

I really enjoyed this duology. As always with N.K. Jemisin, the worldbuilding is fascinating, the plot is well-constructed, and the characters feel real and compelling.

A satisfying conclusion to the duology. The world feels completely real, as do all the characters. The characters started off as quite unlikeable, but they were fleshed out well and developed in a way that made me love them. I think the story had less intrigue and excitement than the first book, so I enjoyed it less, but has elements that would make it more enjoyable to some. As always, it’s wonderfully written and fully engrossing. An amazing book and series
