This was such an enjoyable read. I thought it was amazing at the amount of detail the author managed to fit in such a small amount of pages.

The book was based on Adrian and his strange surprise, Abigail. Throughout the book, Abigail was described as an abnormal looking creature by Adrian and whenever people came near to Abigail, she seemed to have an odd effect on them. We get to hear a lot about Adrian while growing up, as well as the present day. I thought his past brought a lot to the story and helped the reader to get to know him.

I really liked the small journey Adrian and Abigail went on. It was a fun little read. The author captivated me from the beginning. I was so eager to find out more about Abigail, but the end gave the reader something very strange and unexpected. I liked the authors style of writing, it was very easy to follow and quick to read. I thought the horror/paranormal aspect was great, it wasn’t a scary read but it was based on those themes.

I don’t want to say too much more because I don’t want to spoil it.

Never ever I could have imagined a twist like this!! I'm in love with this story that was delivered so well by the narrator.

Adrian's glittery life gets overturned unexpectedly one night, when after a perfect date he finds a little bundle on his doorstep. The little basket contains a baby girl, Abigail, which after a closer look appears to not be your average baby. This doesn't dissuade Adrian and he falls in love completely with Abigail, but he soon realises he's not the only one falling in love with her.. In fact, she seems to have a strange effect on people.. But how and why?

So much is packed in this short novella, delivering such an impactful and strong message that I felt reinvigorated by listening to it. The narration was perfectly executed by Ryan Haugen, making it such an easy listen, and together with the flow of the story, this was very surprising and really enjoyable! The massive twist at the end had my jaw crack open, followed by a big smile and a radiating warmth throughout my body! I hope that at some point we all get to be a bit like Abigail!

Thank you Daemon Manx for the opportunity to listen to it and this is my honest review.

Abigail is unlike anything I’ve read before. I went in totally blind and I recommend you do too. It’s a quick, short and sweet story that doesn’t disappoint. Just when you think you know what is happening, whoa you get blown away. That twist! As usual Daemon Manx doesn’t disappoint in his mixture of horror and feeling. The book has some tender and sweet moments and themes that will cement this story in your mind long after you turn the final page. A true 5 star author.

Adrian is a bit of a diva with OCD until he finds a baby on his porch. From there, everything changes.

Adrian is completely smitten with Abigail, as is everyone who meets her. I loved how these two came together and how Adrian practically changed his whole life for this little one. A great build-up and wonderful characters paired with an unexpected twist make this a great read. I look forward to reading more from Manx.

"When all the projections of the unforeseeable future were reduced to one moment and all the pretentiousness of the “so-called” modern world were stripped away, the beauty of acceptance and unconditional love was all that mattered.

In this story we meet Adrian, a man who is looking for that perfect love. Adrian also struggles with his inner self as he was bullied because of his sexual identity.

"Now, at the beginning of the third decade of the twenty-first century, being gay wasn’t supposed to be that big of a deal. It wasn’t supposed to be something you needed to hide in a closet, and it wasn’t supposed to be something that made you feel any less than the guy next door—certainly nothing to be ashamed of."

Adrian meets Michael and thinks that he has finally met the one. His whole world is then shifted as he finds a darling baby on his doorstep. Abigail is this happy, little sweetheart whom exudes light, love and happiness. Everyone who meets her thinks she is the most adorable, beautiful baby.

This was such a creative novelette. I really liked the character focus and absolutely loved little Abigail. I was really engaged in the story when...plot twist. I was not expecting that at all and it was a very entertaining twist.

If you are looking for something different, this novelette was an entertaining read that I quite enjoyed!
