Very good character study. Overall pacing flawed, slow throughout then quick ending that I still don’t feel like I fully understand. But the story itself was very good. Would be great to read in the fall.

Victor‘s a damn idiot pt.2
Read somewhere that the first two parts of the book are real good but the third is just perfect and can’t agree more. Although I think that the epilogue is a bit cheesy but I’m no fan of epilogues anyway so might be just me…
HOWEVER, Girl…. You need a therapist Elizabeth…

4.5 stars, mainly because I was really bored for the first 100 pages. But like the ending? OH MY GOD. This was essentially feminist Frankenstein fanfiction, so like god tier book

I liked this book perfectly fine. Some parts definitely held my attention more than other parts. Overall the writing is pretty good. You can clearly tell White takes inspiration from the source material, and for the most part it blends quite well with the more modern elements. Because it's actually readable, and you don't have to spend 30 minutes reading a single page.
I liked how the themes from [b:Frankenstein|35031085|Frankenstein|Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1498841231s/35031085.jpg|4836639] were treated. I guess Elizabeth was interesting.
My only "problem" was the epilogue. Could've lived without it if I'm being honest, but that's just my opinion. I do understand the appeal of such an ending, but I don't think it's needed in this case.

couldn't stand the protagonist being depressed about victor, i'd rather watch "lisa frankenstein" again, some of this writing is just horrible
