slower than the other books and less interesting, i wish it had been shorter because it felt so long for no reason. i really loved all our main characters and the reveals in this book, i can’t wait for Kingdom of Ash!!

i was initially bored by this book because it is a SLOW one but i found so much joy, peace, and hope in its pages. the representation is incredible and so close to my heart and the world-building absolutely shines

When I realized that Tower of Dawn was about Chaol instead of Aelin and crew, I was not excited. I put it down in favor of a few other books and ignored it for days at a time. Honestly it wasn’t until around page ~200 when I really got into it. Luckily I pushed through and actually enjoyed it!

As a last ditch effort, Chaol and Nesryn hope to find an alliance with the powerful Khagan kingdom in Antica—and heal Chaol’s broken body at the Torre Cesme too.

We meet a whole host of new, fierce characters that allow for a total change of pace compared to the other books in the series. Slower paced, yes, but in a good way. And even though this was a side story, a lot of its big reveals will most definitely return with a vengeance in the last book of the series. Can’t wait to see how SJM wraps all of this up.

It was a slow start very dragging up until chapter 10ish, then the plot actually begins, I found that the characters I hated with a passion became my favorite at the halfway point of the book. It has its issues (being problematic and such) but the story is incredibly captivating

I liked this one, but I'm really glad I tandem read it with Empire of Storms because it was a bit slow at the beginning and I would've missed reading about the others (Aelin, Rowan, Aedion, etc.). I really loved Chaol's character development in this one and Nesryn has become a favorite character for me!
