What an amazing debut from Emma Lucy!
Everything about this book felt so natural and organic; the slow build of Rory & Wyatts relationship, the friendships around them, the pacing of the whole book and the timeline of events.
Wyatt doesn’t have much self worth, then in comes Aurora who stands up for her man, to prove he is worth everything. Aurora is hurt & healing and Wyatt is there to pick her back up and dust her off.
I felt at home instantly when I started this book, its an easy read and the perfect escapism for a Brit with a cowboy obsession haha
I just need to give a special mention to the comedy element of this book because it had me belly laughing throughout!
Huge congratulations Emma, I can’t wait for the next one!

🤠 CITY GIRL INHERITS A RANCH… AND BUTTS HEADS WITH A GRUMPY COWBOY? YEP, SIGN ME UP. SHE IS IN HER COWBOY ROMANCE ERA!
Aurora “Rory” Jones is a British wellness influencer who thinks a Colorado ranch will be a quick sell after inheriting it from her great aunt… until she meets Wyatt Hensley, the ranch’s very grumpy (and very hot) head rancher. Sparks? Oh, they’re there. But so are the arguments.
This was cute, cozy, and definitely gave me small town comfort vibes, but I’ll be honest... I wanted more slow burn tension. The enemies to lovers angle fizzled out pretty quickly, and their chemistry felt more sweet than swoony. That said, I loved how they supported each other after messy breakups. Wyatt helped Rory find her confidence again and Rory reminded Wyatt it’s okay to dream big. I loved that for them.
The ranch setting was charming, the side characters were fun (I’m begging for Duke & Cherry’s book next), and if you’re in your cowboy romance era like I clearly am, this one will hit the spot. Think grumpy/sunshine, small town, and a touch of spice (🌶️🌶️). It really is the perfect book to check out for fans of Elsie Silver or Lyla Sage.
⭐ 3.75/5 – a wholesome, feel good cowboy romance that’s more comfort read than high angst.
“You’re not stealing my ranch, city girl.”
“No, cowboy. Just maybe your heart.” 😉
🔥 Tropes:
✨ Grumpy Cowboy x Sunshine Influencer
✨ Enemies to Lovers (ish)
✨ Forced Proximity
✨ Healing After Heartbreak
✨ Small Town Romance

I thought Live Ranch Love was cute. We have a fitness/wellness influencer who has inherited her aunts ranch and at the same time found out her boyfriend cheated on her. She goes to the ranch intending to sell but then drives to team up with the Grumpy head ranch hand to turn it into a wellness retreat instead.
This was described as enemies-to-lovers. I get where it was coming from but it wasn’t that heavy in that aspect in my opinion. They clashed because he just wants the ranch to be as it is and not to sell. He is a I did find they tropes and how they played out to be typical to the genre but I liked that it was that way. The book was exactly what I wanted it to be. I see that the second book is also being published and I am excited about that because I was curious if Cherry was going to get a book!
Thank you to Avon for the complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley for my audio arc this is my honest opinion. This was marketed to me as an enemy as to lovers romcom. The book legitimately only made me laugh once and there was pretty much no enemies to lovers in this at all at the very beginning. There was a very mild dislike for each other, but that was it. Now let’s talk narrators the female narrator has a very British accent and listening to her do American accent was horrendous She tried so hard to give this man from Colorado a southern accent that honestly sounded Scottish. The male narrator did not fit the character whatsoever and listening to him do a female voices almost made this unbearable. At 90% into the book a character shows up and causes unnecessary drama, which made the plot even more unlikable. Unfortunately, I legitimately have nothing good to say about this book. Not even the spice made up for this. I spent almost the entirety of this book wishing it would just be over Because I hate to DNF arcs.

I’ll admit, Live Ranch Love didn’t hook me right away. It took a little time to get into, but the more I read, the more I got to know Wyatt and Rory, and by the end I genuinely loved them.
Their banter was a real highlight. Wyatt had just the right amount of grump to balance Rory’s brightness, but she wasn’t all sweetness either. Rory had her own spark and confidence, which made their dynamic feel really well-matched and fun to read.
I laughed out loud more than once and found myself smiling at my Kindle throughout. There was something so effortlessly charming about their relationship that made it easy to root for them.
They are just so cute together. The kind of couple that slowly grows on you until you’re completely invested.
It’s not quite a five-star read for me, only because it started a little slowly. But once it found its stride, it was warm, funny, and thoroughly enjoyable. I’ll definitely be picking up more from Emma Lucy.

As cringe as it was, there were still cute moments.
The romance felt distant and I couldn’t feel any chemistry between them. It was all a little flat to me.
The third act was a bit ?? It was over faster than it started and then everyone acted like it didn’t happen. Idk it just felt unnecessary.
