"But who wouldn't want to have their legs wrapped around a handsome, muscly cowboy?"

"She's the kind of high I'd chase for eternity."

• forced proximity
• no third act breakup
• found family

Honestly, I'm speechless... I highlighted so many parts. This was such a good debut novel!! This is my second cowboy romance book and it did not disappoint! I was hooked on the first few chapters. Normally, I'm not a fan of slow burn but I loved the slow burn in this book leading up to the spice... I loved how they both healed and built up their confidence together. This was the perfect summery, cowboy romance to end my June! The last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat.

All the stars for Live, Ranch, Love! This audiobook was absolutely hilarious—start to finish—and the narrators did a fantastic job keeping the energy high and the laughs coming. I was literally laughing the entire time! My husband kept glancing over at me, wondering what was so funny. If you’re in a reading slump or just need a good mood boost, this story is the perfect pick-me-up. It’s laugh-out-loud funny in the best way.

That said, I do have a couple of notes. The female narrator, Charlie Albers, didn’t quite hit the “country accent” mark—it leaned more rural English than cowboy twang. And while I adore Alexander Cendese as Wyatt, I wish the narration had been done as a duet. Alex voicing Rory just didn’t quite land for me. His British accent was lovely, but hearing him voice a female character felt a bit awkward and cringy at first. Thankfully, as the story progressed, I was able to get past it and really enjoy the ride.

All in all, the book and the story itself are EXCELLENT. I absolutely adore Rory and Wyatt and cannot wait to dive into more of their story in book 2.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperAudio Adult for an arc of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

As an avid audiobook listener, a narrator can make or break a book and unfortunately both narrators broke this book for me.  I was so excited because I’ve heard great things about this book and I love a cowboy romance.  I specifically waited to read this because I wanted to listen to the audiobook was especially excited because this was a duet narration.

But the narrators just didn’t fit the characters for me.  The female narrator sounded like a 60 year old English grannie rather than the 20-something fitness influencer, Rory.  She attempted this weird southern drawl when reading Wyatt’s dialogue and it ended up sounding more like Sam Elliott attempting a posh accent.  This was especially jarring because the male narrator did not do an accent for Wyatt and his variation of an English accent for Rory came off cartoonish and quite frankly was nails on a chalkboard for me.

I will have to go back and physically read this book because the narration just took me out of the story too much for me to maintain focus.  If it were possible, I wish it would be re-recorded with different narrators.  Unfortunately I don’t think that would happen, so maybe stick to physically reading this one.
