Have I mentioned how much I dislike series?
Book four in the Rivers of London series, as per the previous books, is good. The story continues of the "other" London, a London of magic and mayhem amidst the general populous. Each mystery is good and basically wraps up by the end of the book except for one thread that remains loose and this thread connects from one story to the next. In this particular case, the Faceless Man continues but now Leslie comes into her own. !! No spoilers but overall, while this might not be his most spectacular book of the series, it certainly sets the reader up for the next volume.

Besides his weird obsession with CCTV footage, Peter Grant is a top notch narrator. 10/10

Another fun read from Ben Aaronovitch. I thoroughly enjoy these characters and, in this particular case, the details on London's housing problems and some architectural oddities made for some interesting depth.

Oooooooh. Ooooooh. So good. Right, so after my Night Circus reading I was in need of some more magic - and in anticipation of getting the graphic novel, I came back to Peter Grant. And this is so, so good. As with so many series, as it progresses the overarching long term narrative is becoming more important than the Problem of the Week - although these still tie-in to the bigger picture and provide Peter with more insight into the magical world. And dammit the ending. Oh the ending. Thank goodness I already have the next book on the shelf!
