Book 4, still going but the series is starting to suffer with not wanting to get done. I still love it, still going to read but the story line seems to be slowing down but dragging the plot along. Nice surprise ending though. Well done ben you codgy dodger.

This whole series is so satisfying for many reasons - an ongoing mystery series, it's British, it has supernatural elements but these don't overwhelm the story, AND it's told from the point of view of a person of color.
Since I've been listening to this series on Audible, I must also admit that the narrator is really excellent. A good range of voice without being over the top.

well i struggled with the first book in this series - really enjoyed the next 2 and then struggled with this one. Peter grant magical detective is once more off in search of the faceless man. There are so many twists and turns it is exhausting.
No, no, no, no, NO! NOPE. I'm noping tf outta here. Just no.
You lead me through 250+ pages of meandering or non-existent plot only to leave me with that gobsmacker in the end and I say thee nay, Ben Aaronovitch! How dare you make the only substantial female character in the whole damn series so far into a villain and/or a villain's accomplice, complicit in murder. I refuse. I am so darn mad right now, I can't even! And because of her fkn face? How dare you! I finished the book mid-transit on my way back from work and that is the only reason I did not throw my tab away in disgust and anger. I am furious! I think I am going to take a nice break from this series to cool tf down and if this doesn't turn out to be Lesley's plan to get the Faceless Man down, well, then I'm probably gonna be outta here. God, I am so angry right now!

Holy hell ... what a great instalment in the Rivers of London series. I didn't love book 2 and 3 but book 4 is all redeeming. Great humour, fun characters and a mind-blowing twist. Loved it.
