This is a fake marriage trope with a very commitment phobic hero. I love a fake marriage trope, but I do usually struggle with a hero who pushes a heroine away. I'm more of a guy-chase-girl story. The difference here is the writing. There was just something about Everly and Reese's story that made this work for me. In fact, I have to admit I enjoyed the anticipation of the moment when Reese was going to regret keeping Everly at arms length. My only complaint would be that I felt like the ending was rushed. I wish there was just a bit more fleshed out at the ending on this one. Ultimately it's a minor when the rest of the book had me hooked.
