I want to start off by saying that I didn't hate this book. But I didn't feel like I liked it as much as the first. I think this was partly my fault, I spent a long time taking breaks from this one so that I could read others. I got distracted from the SL a lot and when I went back to it I continued to wonder why they were still dragging on in the same settings. Jack is awesome as usual, also in the wrong place at the right time. Holly was irritating and flip floppy. The bad guys were interesting and very complex. I did enjoy this book and I will continue to read them, I just may take a break from the series for a while being that the other books in my queue are starting to accumulate more quickly.

Who doesn’t like a tough stoic practical ex-military cop who minds his own business but somehow gets embroiled in a national security issue just simply by being his gentlemanly self?
This went down easier than the first. I like Reacher’s principles. I like his thought processes. I don't doubt his skill or his reasoning. The only complaint I have is that this sometimes is too mired in the details, but that’s just small quibbles.
Again, manners and brains with the brawn matter a lot! There’s even a little romantic something something going on just like it did in the first book. I surely wouldn’t say no to Reacher or with moving forward with the next installment!

Book # 2 in the Jack Reacher series has Reacher inadvertently caught up in a kidnapping, when he stops to help a woman on crutches manage her dry cleaning. He notices that she is strangely calm and collected. Holly Johnson is an FBI agent … and also the daughter and god-daughter of two powerful men.
Gosh but these books are addictive! Reacher is former military police, and now is roaming about taking odd jobs. He’s certainly got his hands full this time. With no advance warning or preparation, he’s thrust in the middle of a madman’s plan to MAKE A STATEMENT. He has the skill and opportunity to escape several times but refuses to leave Holly behind. Sometimes he uses brute force, other times psychological manipulation. I like that in this book, Holly Johnson is a strong female …. She may be on crutches, but she is far from helpless. Brava!
Implausible though it may be, Child gives the reader a fast-paced thriller full of action and intrigue.
Johnathan McClain does a fine job narrating the audio. He sets a brisk pace, has clear diction, and I loved the voice he used for the villain!

This was a great Jack Reacher book. The plot was very tense at times and moved at a fast pace. This would make a good story for a future Amazon Prime Jack Reacher series.

I like Jack Reacher. I've been recommending these books to people who love Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp. Anyone who has read both like them both? Jack is different from Mitch, but similar enough to appeal in the same way.
