Wow, this was just crappy.

The story was boring, nothing really happened, the girls (and Gordon) were highly annoying and then we also have POVs switching in the middle of the story. Which was really annoying. One moment we would have Abby, then suddenly switch to Nina and even one time we switched to Leila. I hate it when this happens. I don't mind if it is clearly said, or when it is done at the beginning of a chapter, but now? No.

I don't like how we had two plots. Abby's x Leila x Gordon and whatever happened between them, and then the whole sorority stuff that got out of hand. I just wish the author had kept to 1 plot and not try to add another one. I can imagine why he added it (giving more depth to Abby, and explaining what happened to her and who Gabriella is), but I think it would have been better had he made a separate book about it.

The sorority stuff? Horrendous, that they do this kind of crazy stuff to pledge/allow members to join. Bleh. Disgusting.

The story was pretty boring up until the end. Then everything started to go wrong and it was quite interesting to read what happened there.

The end? Meh, typical R.L. Stine ending. Would I recommend this one? Not really.

This is my very first R.L. Stine book and though I’m not the target audience for this I’ve been wanting to give his work a try. I went into this knowing that it would read a little young for me so I was prepared for that. Having said that, I enjoyed the plot twist in this book. I didn’t see it coming at all! I didn’t like any of the characters, but it’s probably because I couldn’t relate to any of them…even putting myself in their age range. I would not have hung out with any of these girls in school. As a matter of fact, these were precisely the girls I would’ve purposely stayed away from. It’s a good thing I was the weird metal chick and stayed to myself I guess. All in all i would say this book was just ok. I have a few more Stines on my shelf and I’m looking forward to reading them.

3 stars.

Complete and utter shite, but quite funny. One of the worst written books I've ever read, and I like Stine! Doesn't read like the same person. If you're a quick reader, worth it just to be amused.

One of top 3 favorite R.L. Stine books. Definitely one of his best. Even on re-reads when I knew the ending, it still hooked me.

(I'm writing this at 1:30 in the morning so I apologize if this isn't coherent)

Meh.

I don't really expect any literary masterpieces from Stein at this point considering I haven't loved any books that I've read from him, so I can't say that I'm surprised that I didn't love this one.

Twisted follows this group of girls who want to join this sorority but to join, they have to partake in a hazing of sorts- the girls have a single task- to rob this little mom and pop jewelry store. Sounds simple right? No not really. You're not wrong about that either.

This book is basically just a 167 page cluster of stupid and confusing crap.

Reading the first half of this book was almost unbearable. All of the characters were bland, whiny and way more immature than my twelve year old sister (these are 18-19 year old girls). Another reason the first half was so bad was the pacing. Nothing really substantial happened until the second half, leaving the first act mostly wasteful.

The second half got a bit easier to read. Plot twists started to come into play which made the book a lot more interesting than before, and I was actually considering giving this book a 3.5 star rating- until the end.

The end is SO confusing and contradictory. There was no explanation as to why what happened, happened, which was so wasteful because Stine had a great opportunity to write a kick-ass- mind blowing, shocking ending, but he definitely didn't, that's for sure.

The one saving grace for Stine's books- thus far, is that I'm able to read each one in about 2 hours all together. So if you're looking for a quick book to complete your Goodreads goal or need a book for a readathon, pick this one up if you are at all interested.
