I enjoyed this Reacher book a good amount. This reacher is more violent and more robotic than the movie version, but I did also really like the more depth this gave than the film. Good read!
I enjoyed the character and story line of Jack Reacher. Very thrilling, full of action and even suspense.
Definitely into reading more of the series.

I would of gave it a 4 stars but some parts of the book were dreadfully boring to read but other parts were actually interesting.
Moderate: Death, Gore, Suicide, Violence, Blood, Injury/Injury detail
My favorite Jack Reacher so far. Believable. Enjoyable. The pieces of the mystery slowly revealed.

My lowest rated of the Reacher novels. I enjoyed it, but it just didn't run on all cylinders like the others in the series.
The more I read Jack Reacher books, the less I like them.
Gruff, womanizing, holier-than-thou. He throws away his clothes instead of cleaning them! You can bet he's going to sleep with at least one woman in the course of the book, she's going to be begging for it because a homeless man is just so irresistible.
Ugh. /endrant. Anyways, the book gets 3 stars because it's what I expect from a Jack Reacher book; action, mystery, detective work and suspense! In that sense it doesn't disappoint.

One of the strengths of "One Shot" lies in its fast-paced narrative. Lee Child's writing style keeps readers hooked from the very beginning, with each chapter ending on a cliffhanger that compels them to keep turning the pages. The action scenes are vividly described and showcase Reacher's exceptional combat skills, adding an element of excitement to the story.
Moreover, the character of Jack Reacher is well-developed and remains consistent with previous installments in the series. Reacher's stoic nature, sharp intellect, and relentless pursuit of justice make him an intriguing protagonist. His interactions with other characters are also well-executed, providing depth and complexity to the overall narrative.
However, "One Shot" suffers from some notable drawbacks that hinder its overall impact. One major issue is the lack of suspense and mystery surrounding the identity of the true culprit. The plot unfolds in a relatively predictable manner, leaving little room for surprises or unexpected twists. This diminishes the suspenseful atmosphere that is often associated with crime thrillers.
Additionally, I found certain aspects of the story unrealistic or far-fetched. While suspension of disbelief is expected in this genre, "One Shot" occasionally pushes those boundaries too far. Some plot developments and character actions may strain credibility, making it harder for me to fully immerse myself in the story.
Furthermore, the supporting characters in "One Shot" are not as well-developed as Reacher. They often lack depth and come across as one-dimensional, serving primarily as plot devices rather than fully fleshed-out individuals. This make it difficult for me to emotionally invest in their fates or feel a strong connection to the story.
