Spent all of New Year's Day reading this. My only complaint is that his emotional battles throughout a good portion of the book became somewhat tedious, but I also think they were pretty critical to the story he was really trying to tell, so I can't knock him too much for it.

Saw this book a few years ago whilst in an airport and thought it was totally my kinda thing. And it was. Having read this in the time I was in hospital, this book really gives you space to escape and puts yourself into Stafford's castaway flipflops. The ups and downs he faced as a result of spending 2 months on an island, with no immediate food, no current water source and literally naked. This was a really fun read and I suggest this book to anyone who has an interest in travelling. Props to Stafford for doing such a crazy task for our entertainment!

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. I actually expected it to be some dude posturing about what a hard man he is, but Ed Stafford was much more than that. He was honest and open about his vulnerabilities during this adventure, and it was so much more than just the physical challenges he faced.
