I absolutely adored this book as a kid, and I adore it now. The characters are all just so amazing and funny and I love them so much. The world is absolutely fascinating, and the lore for the Library is one of the coolest things I think I have ever read. Also, the ending was amazing;
Alexandra's gift being willpower was such a cool idea. It surprised me, and it basically shaped me as a person.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

That said, I took off a star for a lack of diversity, an abundance of kinda sexist comments, and a magical creature that seems to be a racist caricature of indigenous/aboriginal people.
