I just started this book yesterday afternoon and I just finished it. I couldn't put it down. From the opening scene of murder, to the sweeping scenes of forbidden love and then the amazing conclusion, this epic work of fiction captivated my attention.
Colin has experienced a lot in his young life. He is forced to abandon his family home when his fathers enemies kill his mother and take him, his Dad and his little brother to a sweeping estate where they will be made to sleep in the barn and become servants. His dad is a fierce supporter of King Charles and these men are not. Inevitably, the family does what they must to survive.
Emma Hardcastle, the daughter of his enemy is his only bright spot. Colin vows revenge against all that have wronged him and his family.
This book is a story of shame, revenge and what you'd do for love. I loved every minute of it.
