Written in 1876, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer tells the story of Tom Sawyer and his friend Huckleberry Finn growing up in a small Missouri village near the Mississippi River. 
I question who the author intended the audience level of the novel to be. The story didn’t flow smoothly, it seemed to just jump from one satirical and over-exaggerated story to the next.
Based on today’s standards the book is controversial due to racial labels and Native American derogatory stereotypes.

I read this as a part of a book club I’m in and I was blown away but how much I really enjoyed it! I found myself laughing and crying with the characters and the last couple hours of the book I was on the edge of my seat! Tom is just a simple boy who loves dead rats, scheming, and faking his own death ya know normal boyhood things hahahaha I also can’t wait to read Huck Finn now although I will say the language is hard to get through and stomach in todays day and age
