I thought I'd like a book about Gordo and Mark more than I did. I was a little annoyed at the repetition and redundancies in the text. At some point it stops being poignant and is just... reading rhe same thing over and over.  This book could have done with some major editing and cuts. It dragged and I felt like I was reading it forever.

The plot is interesting albeit predictable, characters mostly likeable although I found them more tropey than usual in this book. I didn't really appreciate the hypersexualization that TJK has written into the villain narrative (or actually the general use of rape as a reference/ adjective)
Elijah licking Gordo's wrist, like Richard Collins and his rape fixation
idk this book didn't grab me attention quite as much as book 1. I felt it was pretty much the last book repeated (and that's besides the part that shows you how events unfolded on the leaving groups end)

I came out of this book not liking Mark or Gordo as much as I started out. They're both morons. Even more so for not being teenagers and being idiots anyway.  Mark really lost points for the
first time he shifted joke/reference dog squat sitting himself incident...
it was just... so unnecessary...

I did like Gordo's magic tho. That was cool.
