I love this book so so much because he spends so much time talking about the forest and the journey and then the final battle is just “oh yeah he hit his head and we can skip it”

The extraordinary adventure that serves as a catalyst for the best fantasy series of them all.

The Hobbit is a bit more silly and light-hearted than The Lord of the Rings, but still contains deep truth, wisdom, and adventure.

such a comfort read!! I’m so happy I finally got around to reading it. I understand why it’s the blueprint of fantasy and a classic. the characters and the narrative are remarkable and engaging, bilbo and gandalf and all the dwarves were such a joy to read.
