This book was very good! The character development was top tier. I appreciated that there was still an antagonist, but the main “villain” of the book was the bad parts of Nesta that she couldn’t acknowledge/forgive herself for. The romance was very well written and paced, Cassian is the epitome of romantasy boyfriend!! Getting to see Nesta’s relationships with the group grow throughout the book was sooo beautiful and made me cry at the end! Emerie and Gwyn are FANTASTIC new characters! Loved them and their stories. The pacing was well done, the threat felt very present, the character arc was heartwarming to experience, and I loved the symbolism of the House! That was a really nice addition that I loved getting to explore more. Hoping for an Azriel/Elain book next!
i cant believe that acotar is over for now. i feel so empty. i love these characters so deeply ❤️

Best book in terms of overcoming trauma in the series.
I do and don’t find Nesta’s qualities lovable - what I love is that she is a deeply complex character.
The book interlaces her and Cassian’s struggle to build a relationship out of separate but comparable traumas, where each keep extending the hand to one another in their own, debilitated way. “Fairy sex” aside, Maas writes beautifully about the ugliness of character in the best of personalities, and how embracing the beautiful and the ugly in one another leads to true, deep bonds that stand the test of time.
The full cast of the audiobook for this series is well-matched to the tone and setting of each chapter. I often found myself joyous with the characters in moments of happiness, or somber with them in hardships and pain.

3.5? So far, I think ACOMAF and ACOWAR were the best.

I loved watching Nesta go from insufferable to a great friend and sister. I also love her relationship with the house. I did find myself not caring about the conflict outside of the night court though.
