I wasn't too thrilled to read another historical fiction novel about astronauts, but I dove in because it's written by Taylor Jenkins Reid. And I'm so glad I entered this world!

Readers will love Joan. She has sacrificed so much to become an astronaut and is such a good aunt to her niece Frances. But, whoa, she has some complicated relationships in her life. With her sister, her family, and with herself, as she doesn't quite recognize that she might be gay. I LOVED when she finally realized that she wasn't just attracted to Vanessa as a friend. Their love is so GOOD and there are plenty of sweet moments throughout the book. Yes, it's a romance, but I appreciated the historical fiction part of the novel where I learned a lot about the first women who were trained to go into space.

As with any Reid novel, I highlighted several passages that I loved because I appreciate how she turns a phrase.
