I really like kitamura’s writing style, but the plot didn’t really compel me and felt relatively banal (husband and wife hate each other, etc.)

This book is out of my comfort zone, but I had hopes I would like it. Instead, I got about halfway before DNF-ing. The writing style is intriguing and hypnotic, and I found myself liking it somewhat. But unfortunately it is a slower paced book, and I was just bored and found myself not wanting to pick it back up.

There's no plot, character development, or closure. I kept thinking something will happen but it didn't.

Katie Kitamura’s writing is something special. I was, on one hand, enthralled by this — I wanted to keep picking it up. On the other hand though, this was one of those books where it ended and I thought “why did this need to be written?” I’m conflicted because I enjoyed everything about it except its substance, haha. I just don’t know why I was supposed to care or take from it.

I really tried to finish this book. It isn't even that long and I read 146 pages. It just was not going anywhere. Stream of consciousness thoughts in one woman's head that just seemed to go nowhere.
